Setne Khamwas entered the tomb of the long-dead prince Naneferkaptah looking for the Book of Thoth. The ghost of Naneferkaptah’s wife Ahwere warned him that the book had already destroyed her family. Naneferkaptah had found the text hidden in nested boxes at the bottom of the Nile near Coptos, guarded by serpents.
