🌍 The Region Icon is Where Your Story Begins
Every card in Mythopouch carries a Region Icon.
That icon marks where the entity, character, artefact, or being comes from: their origin, their culture, and the world that shaped them.
Tier 1 begins with three regions, also reflected in the free mythology records:
- Arthurian (ancient British)
- Ancient Greek
- Ancient Egyptian
More regions arrive as the game expands. Each one has its own identity, tone, and mythology, and that flows directly into how stories are told.
🗺️ What Does the Region Icon Do?
The Region Icon is a story anchor. It tells the player:
- Where the entity comes from
- What kind of world shaped them
- What themes they bring into an encounter
When the icon is quiet, it is identity. When it is activated, it can change how the scene is told.
❔ When Does It Matter?
The Region Icon stays quiet until a moment in play asks it to speak: an encounter, or a Behaviour, Morality, or Persuasion card.
Then the region can shape or shift the outcome.
👉 The same encounter can feel completely different depending on the region involved.
🃏 One Card, One Region
Every entity card has only one Region Icon. All entities from the same region share that icon. That keeps identity strong and easy to recognise at the table.
🔥 Example
You are Medusa (Greek Region) and encounter a character from another region. A game card activates a Region effect. Now the story shifts.
- Greek themes may lean toward fate, hubris, curses, and transformation.
- An Arthurian encounter may lean toward honour, loyalty, and the cost of a vow.
- An Egyptian encounter may lean toward order, judgement, and what must be weighed.
👉 Same encounter… completely different story.

It is a simple symbol. It still carries an entire mythology.
