Retelling The Homeric Hymns

Greek
Introduction
This is the Mythopouch retelling of the Homeric Hymns, a collection of thirty-three ancient Greek hymns to gods and divine figures. It is written for readers aged 15 and up.
Each hymn is presented beside Hugh G. Evelyn-White's 1914 public-domain English translation, followed by a modern Mythopouch retelling in Australian English. The retelling is original Mythopouch wording and is not a replacement for the historical source text.
What this retelling is
This retelling covers all thirty-three Homeric Hymns, from the long narrative hymns to Demeter, Apollo, Hermes and Aphrodite to the shorter invocations to gods including Ares, Artemis, Athena, Hera, Poseidon, Zeus, Hestia, Helios and Selene.
The format keeps two voices together. First comes the 1914 Hugh G. Evelyn-White translation of the hymn. Beneath it comes the Mythopouch retelling, which follows the same poem in clearer modern prose for readers aged 15 and up.
The full PDF contains all thirty-three hymns and their Mythopouch retellings in one file.
How to use it with the Sources page
Use The Homeric Hymns (Sources) when you need the public-domain 1914 translation, the original hymn sequence or the translator's line references.
Use this page when you want the same material presented as a modern educational reading. Mythopouch entity pages can point to both: the historical source witness for citation and the retelling for readable modern prose.
The ancient hymns and the 1914 translation are public domain. The modern Mythopouch wording is not.
